     More than likely one of the enemy had recognised me when I laughed and Bud was merely pretending that he did not know which Burchfield they meant.  As we did not answer, the enemy, I suppose, thinking that Bud had no more idea than they, who we were, sent him up to find out.  He came stomping up and looked at us carefully; we thereupon communicated to him of our intention of suddenly rushing down and making a break for it (it presumably a better hiding place, altho where it was to be we then had no idea).
