arriving I was greeted by my confederates with remarks to the effect “I thought you’d gone home”. Of course I was disconcerted by such a depreciating remark, but soon forgot it in the excitement that followed and besides, perhaps they had every reason to believe that, for I had told no one of my intention of putting up a pennant and had stayed away quite awhile. On looking up to see what the excitement was about, I perceived a dark flapping piece of cloth, which I took for a Senior pennant from the attitude of both sides.
