71. We made a complete circle around thru the woods, and then headed for the car tired out. We went on then to the next cross-road (Three-rod Rd) where we turned south. Here was a low swampy woods right by the road. We stopped to get some rotten wood for the garden, after which we went homeward by Bullis Rd.
Apr. 29, 1935-
Lumbago or rheumatism again – I go to Buffalo for a treatment after which I go to the Evans elevators[.] I arrived just as a storm was creeping across the sky; the effect with the elevator was fine. I made a few notes, then it rained so hard that their appearance was all changed.
Home again, to groan & bewail my rheumatism. Evening with Sally to Dr. who gives me medicine.
Apr. 30, 1935 –
Not much improved but P.M. to harbor anyway. A stormy cold day – the color on the elevators fine & dark. it rains at times, and once a few flakes of snow.
go to island at foot of Mich. St. looking for boats- find one similar to the one I want mored [sic] by a high grassy bank.
