Lackawanna, South of Buffalo, was known for its industries and steel production since the turn of the century due to its location on the waterways. Generations upon generations worked in dreary conditions for the pay and reliability of work in the mills until the 1980s. Two figures, one young and one older, walk toward the steel mills. The grey skies also suggest foul pollution which was known to drown out the sun for days on end.

Have you ever been to work with either of your parents? Do they have the same type of job as your grandparents have or had? Maybe one day could you have the same job as them? How do you think your parents would feel if you followed in their career footsteps?
