On her website, the artist states that she is a Western New York native who “began refining her own visual and conceptual vocabulary at SUNY Buffalo State,” where she was “immersed in design associated with painting and sculpture” that has informed her approach to photography. “Since 2007. Her large scale photographic images blur the lines of form bringing the source of visual landscape into question.” She expands upon this in an artist’s statement: “My work focuses on the surface tension with reflective surfaces exploring diverse and abstract forms. The imagery is fluid, caught in the instant between space and time speaking to patterns and textures, earthly and alien, ancient and monolithic, contemporary and poetic.”
Sćiuk received an honorable mention for her work when exhibited at the Louvre in Paris. Her work has been exhibited at various venues in Western New York since 2007, as well as in Miami, Long Island City, New York, and, most recently, at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. There is no work by her in the collection.
