“The weather has been so beautiful. When the sun shines, Alaska is like no other place. The sound with the mountains touching the water, large expanses of untouched wilderness. The water is almost fresh. Hardly any saltiness at least on the surface. Glacier melt, freshwater rivers, fill the sound.”

They say this might be the largest construction project in the world right now. The clean-up goes along slowly. It is amazing how much is not affected, the size of this country is immense………….

I don’t get to town. I’m 50 miles from a telephone, spend most of my time in little bays, far from civilization. It is amazing how many people live on islands, isolated. Fishing communities far from the problems of primitive America.
