Burr H. Nicholls (1848-1915)

The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum generously gifted this painting to the Burchfield Penney Art Center in 2009. The museum had changed its mission and wanted the painting to go to a museum that would appreciate it. After discovering that our museum’s mission to represent “distinguished artists of Buffalo-Niagara and Western New York State” included Lockport native Burr Halliday Nicholls, they decided to donate this painting to our museum through their deaccession process.
