Reginald Case (1937-2009)

#141 Painting / Oriental Horse was illustrated on the invitation to a solo exhibition presented at The Alternate Space Gallery at West Broadway in New York City on September 11-30, 1976. Like other works in the series, it is brightly colored, richly patterned, and utilizes the horse as a primary metaphoric subject. It is reminiscent of the psychedelic art of Fillmore West posters, whose artists incorporated complex East Asian patterns in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
