From “Remarks about my painting”: In my painting “TROJAN HOURSE” I was influenced by my childhood memories of the story of the Trojan horse, however I have recreated the Trojan horse in terms of a mechanical war machine, at the same time retaining the form of the horse. The painting, to me, is a parody, exposing the ridiculous methods that man will take to kill his fellow men. (Martha Visser’t Hooft Archives, 3-12, Notes on My Painting”)
