Jensen’s works seem to be a product of an interest in past civilizations and archeological finds. The exhibited work from his 1991 Shard Series superimposes a face onto a broken piece of stone. Jensen constructs an imitation of an artifact, seemingly from a French Gothic cathedral’s façade — a face to represent an unknown lost culture. He renders images in a rich, luminous photographic style which make them visually intriguing. —Joan Vita Marotta, 2002
