Ana Maria Hidalgo described her watercolors as “more personal, a more subjective vision of ideas and images that are based on deep feelings of who I am as a woman and as a Latin-American woman. I struggle to capture the essence of the relationships among landscape, culture, and the forces that shape our being beyond the limitations that are imposed on us….A people without creativity cannot survive and a creative spirit cannot survive without the people. I find myself trying to be the link between survival and creativity.”
