Stagnant, undecided weather –
The pale sun shines on the snow with a clear orange brassy color that I always associate with late February or early March-
For walk North beyond French Rd. to the R.R. The sunshine is warm and mellow – many fields are clear of snow, and the grass glows with a rich warm ochre color –
The murky woods and swamps –
At the railroad I came upon trash heaps in which were innumerable nuts and bolts and iron washers – a flash of some boy-hood memory when such things thrilled my young eye came before my mind, and vanished again like a stray gleam of sunshine in November that lights up some indistinct object on the far horizon a moment, and then goes leaving a misty blank as before-
On Union Rd. the melting snow reflected the sun in a glare –
