Up late. We had intended going to church somewhere but Frank called us at 11:00 & asked us to come over to his apartment & later have “Brunch” at the Town & Country on Park Ave.
We had a pleasant intimate “chatty” time before lunch. Then to lunch. F brought extra butter to take along for our pan-cakes. Cocktails while we waited. The Brunch a very delicious – Popovers, pancakes, sausage & salad coffee etc.
Then back to apartment. Mrs. Tengwell up later.
B & I leave about 4:00 to Speichers. To hotel to rest awhile. Then out to down to Times Square. To Locus State to see “Love Letters” in the middle of it & must sit thru some very poor Vaudeville.
Afterwards to Grand Central to get oysters at oyster bar, but find it closed. So is every other restaurant. We finally get a very unsatisfactory snack at some nondescript cafeteria.
