A.M. Had to work outdoors so made a frame and a mat for the “Backyard in November” for sending it to the Nat. Academy Show.
Evening—B & I to chamber music concert at the Gallery. A fine program beautifully played—a trio of Mozart, Sonata (piano and violin) of Beethoven and a Trio (Opus 101) of Brahms.
Our enjoyment was somewhat marred by the over-friendliness of ________, who urged us to come over and sit with them, altho we had already picked the seats we wanted. (The seats were arranged on three sides of the platform on which the musicians sit, and we had picked seats in the center group so that we faced the musicians, but no one else). The _____ had chosen seats on the left side group, front row, so that the musicians backs were to us, and furthermore we faced a large part of the audience and felt as tho on exhibition. This was the place the Ritchies & Elliotts chose to sit, and so one felt an obligation to chat and be sociable between numbers. These were minor considerations and we got a lift from the concert. The Brahms number which we had not heard before was especially fine.
