Start out in search of the source of Little Beaver...Distant woods blued as by wood smoke. Seen through an opening in a near screen of trees, these woods seem like distant lakes. The wind displays the tinny glint on all the trees, which reaches a high polish on the twinkling poplars. The cicada in his life among these trees must have gotten some of that tin on his musical instrument. Z-ing of katydids on all sides; Grasshoppers clipper up in spiral flight.
