To early service,
Then working on frames some – painting the small ones.
Shortly after dinner, Olmsteds call & invite us out to their Sardinia summer place. –
A fine drive out (on Olean Rd.) – their place beautifully located – The Andersons there, as well as several other people. For a stroll in the woods. Almost too warm for comfort. Mrs. O collecting plants for a friend who wanted to make a terrarium – The clear stream fed by springs.
Supper – more people came in – but a pleasant of (if confused & noisy) affair. – A bus-driver from Springville had bicycled over with his two boys. –
After supper H. [Harold] talked endlessly about the “old days” of ancient art doings in Buffalo, & people I could not possibly have heard of. –
Home at ten. Pal for his evening outing – how good it seemed in our backyard – so quiet & peaceful.
