Letter from Joe. He & Ruth are spending the week-end at Cayuga Lake & intend stopping off here on the return (Monday).
B—M & I to Loblaws marketing—warm & sunny when we went in but a very short & violent storm came up while we were inside. Blew down branches some of which damaged cars parked there.
Raining most of morning—Played Beethoven’s Quintet #15 (132)—The third movement is almost incredible in its atmosphere of religious feeling. A monologue addressed to God. Evening call Em about her car, which Art plans to buy.
