Burchfield's grandson David Richter has died

I am saddened to report that Burchfield’s grandson David Richter died June 28th after a long illness. He was 69 years old. He had a long career as a talented pianist who performed at the Burchfield Penney Art Center and served as faculty at The Royal Conservatory of Music at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. David also became a major patron of our museum, making significant donations to the Charles E. Burchfield Archives of vintage photographs, exhibition records, and so much more relating to his grandfather’s life and career. He is survived by his sister Peggy Richter Haug and brother Tom Richter among other Burchfield family members.
