From October 11, 2013 - February 23, 2014 there is a retrospective art show at Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1913 69th Regiment Armory Art Show.
This was one of the first exhibts of modern American art, and European advantgard art shown.
The only Buffaloians who had art in the show were Charles Cary Rumsey and his sister, Evelyn Rumsey Lord.
Financial support for the original show was helped by Mabel Dodge Luhan, another Delaware Avenue person born in 1879. In her autobiography, Intimate Memories, she recounts her childhood memories of playing with the Rumseys on their estate and in their manisions.
When not time traveling, working out, or hanging out at the Burchfield Penney, Mary Beth Parrinello is the religion teacher in the Montessori program at Nardin Academy in Buffalo, N.Y. She also volunteers her time at Westminster Presbytarian Church, C.G. Jung Center, and Junior League of Buffalo, which was founded by Mary Harriman Rumsey, Charles Cary Rumsey's wife!
