At Twilight – [Arthur] and I for walk to Union Rd. Bridge over Penna. R.R. –
Long dark bars of clouds over the clear watery southwest sky – the roundhouse sending up puffs of white smoke, interspersed with the brilliant stars of electric lights. [Arthur] said he liked the round house lit up. It reminded him of the N.Y. World’s Fair.
We stayed on the bridge watching the engines shifting back & forth until we got too cold to stand still any longer.
