Cold day with fleets of dapply clouds. At noon—sun partially obscured—north sky full of big blue holes. The north sides of houses was cold blueish—the west very warm—yellow, the east also warm but more neutral—
((The cold blue light is chastely beautiful but it falls on evil or hideous things, producing a wonderful contrast))
At the end of the grey afternoon the red sunlight came out & lit up the strange factories – Beautiful white train smoke—
((Small buildings of factories bristle in the black dusk))
