The other day my Ekman book on Sibelius came. I find it interesting in many ways. It has a fine portrait of him on the front.
I find a few parallels in our careers. He lost his father at 2 1/2 (I at 4) — he was deeply interested in Nature lore as a boy, and collected butterflies etc.
Interesting to know is that as a young man, he saw tones in terms of colors.
