November 16 – Saturday –
Milder, mostly cloudy – a southwest wind – still too early to scatter bone meal, which sends up stifling clouds even on a still day, so volatile is it –
Most of the day in the studio, where I completed a mount of w.c. paper 50 x 64 (for gateway to November) and the remounting of “Sunburst in October” which is now 50 x 60.
At noon we went out to H.J’s for lunch enjoying the trip out and back –
On the way again to the studio I noticed Larry carrying leaves away from Cottrell’s – I asked him if he would fill a container for me {to use for the wild flower garden) which he did –
Started reading again the “Land of the Pointed Firs” (Sarah Orne Jewett) [this is as it is written in the journal, however the actual title of the book is, “The Country of the Pointed Firs”]
