November 10 – Saturday –
Cool – rain + wind from the east – a profusion of yellow poplar and maple leaves filling the air and covering the lawns. Most of the morning on the “Moonrise in the Woods” –
The three of us to H.J.’s for lunch – then dropped Peggy off at her home. (She is going to a birthday party in the evening).
P.M. More work on the Moonrise – I thought I had about solved, but when I brought it into the house the overhanging branch still seemed too spidery and obvious.
Just before our supper the doorbell rang and when I opened the door there stood Beverly and her groom, and the maid-of-honor – Beverly in a white wedding gown with a flaring hoop skirt – It is always nice to see a bride and groom in the virgin glow of their happiness –
Evening music –
Haydn’s Surprise Symphony - An Overture and Symphony by Boccherini – Symphony #1 by Beethoven.
