A dark dour day –
Noon the three of us [Bertha, Sally, and Charles] for lunch at the coffee shop of the Charter-House.
In their decorations, placemats etc., they display the name Tivoli, but feature Scandinavian food. We asked the waitress for an explanation – She said there was a Tivoli-House in Sweden, and that was the source of the name.
We chose Hans Christian Andersen sandwiches – which were composed of ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese – with various tidbits “on the side”. A very enjoyable lunch – The color scheme of the room very warm and cheerful coral red, warm tans, & ocher-ish yellows – an antidote for the gray sky.
In the evening a visit to the studio – and then playing parts of the McKellar records.
