Finished work on the studio stove.
Evening the second Toscanini broadcast (our first for we missed last weeks (sic). How starved I was for a concert performance is shown in that a piece by Rossini whom I rarely care for, sounded superb. Of course Toscanini was directing it! The next number was “Don Quixote” by Richard Straus (sic), which even Toscanini could not clarify for me. The last number was the Beethoven Fifth, which found me curiously out of time.
