First Autumn Storm
Sky a huge black monster; terrific cold wind; dashing frothy rain trees bend + fling back and forth; house roofs glow like phosphorous; rattle of leaves; air + sky full of black scattering leaves, ground covered with a vivid yellow glow from fallen leaves;
Later on, a flush of sunlight – then dark, wind, turns to snow – at noon – thick white flurry over dead sunflowers + blooming petunias; intense white horizon –
