Evening with H – we disport ourselves like children with a toy balloon until tired out. I am more than glad I can be so foolish without apologizing to myself. Every once in a while H – surprises me by expressing, seemingly unconsciously, a fine poetic thought; as the other day he told me he detected a green haze in the trees; or again how he hates to just throw a flower anywhere, but thinks it most fitting to be laid in the grass. Tonight he thought it wasn’t right to color carnations green, an insult to the flowers!
