A cold blue air morning. Air snaps like crackle of lightning.
Morning sunshine is late. It seems as tho (sic) the season advanced wonderfully in one cloudy day - we notice all at once how late the sun is in appearing. The dew spurred shadows are longer now. Mr. C - reports either a light frost or a heavy dew he was not sure which. At any rate little harm was done. The sun rises almost due east.
Bright sunlight striking trees horizontally as if to push them over.
Early a fleet of clouds come & obscure the sky, clearing away at late afternoon.
Sun-rods striking dew from grass.
Cold wind whips a maple until lashings show a livid white.
