On a walk the other day I came across a huge disc-like thistle plant. It struck me that solitary plants or trees etc, were as much natural phenomena as a storm on a sunset + worth making pilgrimages to see. I was delighted when I took F – to see it, he remarked that it was worth coming all the distance.
I know a chestnut tree which with its peculiar twisting bark, is like a bit of music.
