B&I to Buffalo to order announcements and other shopping. Lunch at Rosticerria –
Buy “The Pines of Rome” – It is good music, but the one flaw as always is the nightingale’s song. I have never heard one, so I wonder if this phonographic recording is a good one. If it is, then how did the nightingale its reputation for beauty? Our woodthrush is much more beautiful. Aside from that, the beauty of the whole nocturne preceding the song of the nightingale is such that only the finest sort of ending is demanded. And then we are treated to the anti-climax!
