A.M. drive to “Minnesota Point”—Sand–dunes—finding the wild sweet peas of my childhood.
Evening dinner with the Millers. We liked Mrs. M. at once. She is of Finnish descent & a great admirer of Sibelius. Their apartment unique & attractive (High & pointed gable with painted beams. Modern furniture. Mrs. M. served a delicious Swiss steak. Afterwards music on a player that Dr. Miller had assembled himself. Sibelius 5th Symphony on a long–playing record—a thunderstorm came up while it was playing—a fine effect. Interesting discussions.
