Some cool things I found in the Burchfield Penney Archives (Thank you, Heather!). This World War 1 coat and helmet, his art smock, letter to Aunt Evelyn about art work he was sending to her, with a p.s. that Mary Harriman said "yes" to his marriage proposal; and a 1916 bill for "The Coffee House". I was intrigued by what that was. The stationery said it was located at 443 4th Avenue in New York. It actually came up in a Google search that it was a club with meetings and dining privileges for its members - and is still around! Learn more about it at TheCoffeeHouseClub.org.
When not time traveling, working out, or hanging out at the Burchfield Penney, Mary Beth Parrinello is the religion teacher in the Montessori program at Nardin Academy in Buffalo, N.Y. She also volunteers her time at Westminster Presbytarian Church, C.G. Jung Center, and Junior League of Buffalo, which was founded by Mary Harriman Rumsey, Charles Cary Rumsey's wife!
