Sitting under the willow tree, trying to bring myself into some state of mind which will reconcile me to a defeated France. A cool delightful breeze form the S.W. stirring the delicate lace of the hanging willow branches. Emulating E.S. Grant Watson (Minds of Earth & Sky) I tried to console my-self (sic) with the thought that no matter what happened, there would always be a fresh June breeze blowing over ripening hay, stirring the new young leaves on trees.
