Cold weather – lowering skies and rain at times.
Mounted some more 1917 sketches.
Many years ago, when Fred was but 4 or 5 years old, I remembered that Jim, in the absence of the rest of the family, watched over Fred & me. – Fred became fretful, and Jim took him on his lap and sang a song to him. Thru the years the time has stayed with me, as a reminder of that incident, but I never knew the name of it until the other evening while listening to band-concert, that came (of all places!) from a town in England called “Penny-on-the-bottle”. The announced that the next piece to be played was to be “Soldiers in the Past” and it proved to be the lullaby Jim sang so long ago.
