Hot and muggy –
A.M. to Dr. Arbesman and Gurney – at the latter’s – I told him I would give him just one guess as to what we were going to give his daughter for a wedding present, thinking he would indeed know. However, he said he had no idea; and when I told him , he seemed overwhelmed.
When I asked if anyone would be at home to receive it, he said he thought not, and came down to the car to get it.
To the appliance repair shop and got a pair of new heads for my shaver – and then stopped in at the Clinton Street Bakery for bread + rolls –
After lunch we did our food shopping (first to bank and cashed all the checks donated for Rev. + Mrs. Neeb’s “purse”)
Then in studio a bit, then came into the house where, I found Rev. Neeb, who had brought us a big package, an anniversary present. He visited a while then had to leave us as he had other calls to make.
Our “boy” who had not showed up all week came this evening – I was laying down so Bertha showed him where to weed.
Later in the evening, after he had gone, we took a stroll into the backyard + were chagrinned to find he had uprooted most of our Oriental Poppies. Altho it had been almost insufferably warm all day, now there was a damp chill in the air.
Music for end of the day – Peer Gynt Suites 1+2 and L'Arlésienne Suite 1 + 2 –
