Finish work on the painting started yesterday. The clean warm weather continues.
An amusing incident - As I was removing my paraphernalia, [name] came along wearing a hat that had a piece of transparent green cellophane set in the wide brim. The sun shining thru, cast a vivid emerald green light on the upper half of his face, without thinking, I exclaimed "gosh, you look like a green-eyed monster."!
Bertha + I discussed at length whether she should go to New York with me. Because I felt she didn't want to go, the effort, expense + bother - not that she didn't really want to be there) I agreed it would not be admissible. But the decision was depressing -
B + the girls to Buffalo shopping - Art + I suppered alone on chili-con-carne -

Letter from F.R. - He says "Hurrah for you - For working out a way to bring Bertha" - Then asked us to come to his house, + then stay over at the Shelton as his guests. So I told B. She would have to go after all. So it is decided.
A sultry day (84˚) - I am at sea - unable to do anything much.
