Throughout her year as Burchfield artist-in-residence, Janelle Lynch will share her thoughts and impressions with us as we share her journey into the spirit and work of Charles Burchfield.
Saw one of my favorite paintings at the BPAC Oh My Heavens show today: Early Spring (1966-67). Is the dark shape in the painting's center part of Conventions for Abstract Thought - Morbid Brooding, 1917. Tullis will know. He and team created a quietly magical show. Look at the installation design! On my way out, Tullis directed me to Chestnut Ridge Park. When I arrived there, it was snowing! Western NY spring. When I was growing up in Jamestown, we had winter from October-March. It's April now....
Tullis to me regarding CEB: "I got the bug."
Kath to me, after Tullis left: "To me, Tullis is kind of a rock star."
