In fall 2014, Emil Schult worked as an artist-in-residence with Alfred University students to create the work, an examination of the art of Charles E. Burchfield and the importance of synesthesia in his creativity.
“There is an energy, a charge and a history that Emil Schult brings with him,” said Alfred University Video Art professor Peer Bode, a nationally and internationally exhibiting artist with media works in museum collections worldwide. "We share some of those histories and traditions and then Emil is coming at them in some really surprising and advanced ways that are teaching us a lot."
The exhibition, co-presented by the Burchfield Penney and the Institute for Electronic Arts, NYSCC at Alfred University explores the depth of Schult’s career in visual and sonic art.
