April 6, 1958 – Easter Sunday–
The Richters in while we were eating a late breakfast (They had been to an early service & had had breakfast with the Lux’s) – They all looked so nice in their Easter clothes –
P.M – The Easter egg hunt on Island Park – A colorful beautiful sight – hundreds of youngsters in vivid colored clothes (red & blue predominating, and green & white – Seen though the screen of sumacs across the street, their constant going back & forth made them seem like birds or butterflies –
For another short stroll in the backyard (temp. at 66°)
Late P.M – Neebs in with a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and pink snap-dragons for the church –
Charles E. Burchfield, April 6, 1958
[possibly a misspelling for Bob Lux, who was a substitute for Rev. Neeb at services;
Pastor Victor H. Neeb and his wife, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, East Aurora, NY]
