March 8 – Sunday –
After church to “Brunch” at the State U College given by Dr. Bulger in honor of Wesley Brett, who had just completed a divider for the dining room at Moot Hall.
A very pleasant affair – The divider a handsome piece of work, mostly of black walnut – Brett gave a little talk on it, after the meal.
Dr. Bulger invited us to his home “for a glass of a little something afterwards.” The “little” drink expanded first into tea – then a Sunday evening snack – all of which was very pleasant and interesting (altho we felt guilty about staying so long – we left at 8:00) Edna Lindemann and Dr. + Mrs. ? (the professor from Australia) also there – The Dr. & his wife have concluded to stay here and become citizens after a short visit to Australia – they like our customs and manners so much better. Mrs. ____ said that when on their return they landed at Kennedy airport in N.Y. that she felt like getting down and kissing the earth.
