Temperature around freezing, not much wind, a misty gray sky – a feeling of brooding – rumbling seems to come from the earth in all directions – starlings, with their “mimicking” calls, imitate the sounds of spring birds.
In the studio; put a temporary varnish on the new parts of the oil; mounted some paper.
Evening – To Eden, all of us to basketball game. B & I became bored about the middle of the last game, and went out for a walk, first going to a little corner restaurant for coffee & a ham sandwich. Eden has the charm of an old fashioned American village, and particularly so on a winter night, when the sky, tho cloudy, was luminous with the full moon behind the clouds.
