What intoxication. The February sun has started roofs to dripping glittering water – The streets are full of water, muddy slush – The crude hideous buildings glow with brilliant color, and I feel as if I would like to embrace them –

As a revolutionist savagely overthrows a defunct form of society, set fire to the outworn ideas in your brain and let the wild winds of March blow the ashes away!

A town of sharp angles, uphills & down hills – surrounded by snow covered bluffs of the Ohio River -

A lowery day – Dawn sky with cold blue rifts –

For a short walk. How pleasant and heart-warming it is to walk through the village and see all the trees I know and love so much – each one individual and like an old friend.

The air is fresh, I enjoyed walking vigorously.

A day out of March – a capricious mixture of ever imminent sunshine and snow-flurries. P.M. for walk. The wind tho not strong, was a nervous, curling one, and whirled the snow in all directions. 

I was working in the cellar today on my etching press. When I came up at noon to find a bright day, I recalled some former mood of boyhood, of being in some dusty office with an old dried up man, and of finally coming forth into a spring evening, and feeling an immense joy at coming forth to youth.

It should be the aim of man to bring myself into complete harmony with the Universe, so that no form of life, no aspect of nature is unpleasant, but on the contrary, beautiful. This can only be done thru love.
