John Opera: For Once, Then, Something: "My photographs and videos often recall pop culture notions of nature and landscape, drawn from the history of painting and photography, as well as films, books, calendars, and other media. The work parallels these sources while also acknowledging how they intersect with the deeper, unnamable aspects of perception and subjective experience."
Kurt Von Voetsch: "For years, I have been collaborating with people in my art projects, and it has been a pain in the ass. Nevertheless, I do enjoy the 'collaborative energy' in the creative process. I now collaborate with 'the dead' by way of tombstone rubbings. Let me tell you it has been wonderful; they don't bitch, and there is no peripheral politics. In fact, it is exciting to show up to the cemetery because it is like being a talent scout. It has brought a little bit of Hollywood into my life."
