As they prepared to serve as student teachers in local schools, art education students who were enrolled in Buffalo State College professor Carole Woodlock's course, "Theoretical Constructs in Art Education" (AED 301), participated in the Burchfield Penney docent program to learn about the museum’s craft art collection, enabling them to give tours of Craft Art in Western New York, 1996 for school groups. The student teachers were also responsible for designing and implementing post-visit lessons in which their students created art for this exhibition.
