Works by Charles E. Burchfield

Tony Sisti's gift of thirty-three works on paper by Charles E. Burchfield includes twenty-six watercolor paintings executed between 1915 and 1918 and seven drawings and sketches done between 1924 and 1966. J. Benjamin Townsend wrote the essay, "Crisis and Renewal: Charles Burchfield, 1915-1916 for the exhibition catalog. Dr. Townsend subsequently edited Charles Burchfield's Journals: The Poetry of Place, the comprehensive, scholarly 737-page resource published by SUNY Press in 1993.
