This collaborative project, presented by the Burchfield Penney Art Center and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, included two pre-concert lectures at Kleinhans Music Hall by composer Morton Gould, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's Music Director Maximiano Valdes, and Burchfield Penney curator Nancy Weekly. The lectures took place in the Mary Seaton Room, where an exhibition of works by Charles E. Burchfield from the Burchfield Penney’s collections was on view before and after the concerts and during intermissions. The Buffalo Philharmonic performed Morton Gould's "Burchfield Gallery," Leonard Bernstein's "Serenade," and Jean Sibelius' "Symphony No. 5 in E-flat Major, op. 82."
