Excerpt from the Preface by Edna M. Lindemann, Curator, Burchfield Center: While the exhibition OUR LEGACY OF ART IN WESTERN NEW YORK commemorates the Centennial of the SUNY College at Buffalo which houses the Charles Burchfield Center where the exhibit is presented, the exhibition is clearly a tribute to the entire Western New York community—to its artists and its civic-minded citizens who through the years have supported the arts and related creative activity.
