Jennifer Maltais completed dual degrees at Buffalo State College: a bachelor of fine arts in design (ceramics) and a bachelor of science in art education. Her sculptural installation was constructed of clay forms, metal and wood and her pit-fired ceramic forms gave reference to architectural materials of the past. Maltais's raku-fired forms, with their metallic patinas, were more ambiguous and referred to either present or future architecture. This was the Burchfield Penney’s sixth annual site-specific installation by a Buffalo State College student.
