Asian Lacquer International

The concomitant Asian lacquer exhibition at the Burchfield Penney Art Center expresses the idea that the past and present can be woven into the design process to create art that melds time-honored traditional techniques and materials with new processes, ideas, and changes in contemporary Asian society, thereby showing that this traditional technique is a vibrant and evolving art form.
